PVAToday packages the PVA’s regular data export into one zip file, and checks the export is complete before it does. It comes two ways: a web page that needs nothing installed, and a small Windows app.
Two ways to send a delivery
The same checks and the same zip, either way.
The web uploader
Available now- Runs in the browser at pva.today/mccracken/send. Nothing to install, no administrator rights.
- Reads only the folders the user picks. In Edge and Chrome it can remember them between visits; other browsers ask each time.
- Builds the zip in the browser, then saves it to the computer or sends it to pva.today over HTTPS with the office’s upload token.
- Keeps its settings in this site’s browser storage. Clearing the site’s data resets it.
The Windows app

pva-today.exe, about 660 KB: no installer, no runtime, no services. - Does the same job, and can repeat it on a timer the user sets.
- A signed download will be published here once signing is complete. Until then, the web uploader does everything the app does.
What it touches
For both the web uploader and the Windows app unless a line says otherwise.
What it does
- Reads two folders the user points it at: the ArcGIS export folder and the parcel-table export folder.
- Checks the files are complete, readable, not locked, and consistent.
- Writes one zip (
COUNTY-YYYY-MM-DD-xxxxxxxx.zip): the files, a plain-textNOTE.txt, and aSHA256SUMSmanifest. - Sends that zip to
https://pva.todayover HTTPS with an upload-only token that Taxr issues per office and can revoke. The web uploader does this today; the Windows app will.
What it does not do
- It does not modify, move, or delete any county file. It only reads.
- It does not need administrator rights, and the app installs no services, drivers, scheduled tasks, or startup items.
- It does not read anything outside the folders the user chose.
- It makes no network connections other than that upload, and collects no telemetry.
What it stores
The folder choices, which files to include, the sender’s name and reason, the last output folder, the timer setting, and a hash of each file at the last delivery so identical files are not sent twice. The Windows app keeps these in one small file, %APPDATA%\pva-today\state.json (delete the folder to reset); the web uploader keeps the same things in this site’s browser storage.
Requirements and signing
Web uploader: a current browser. Edge or Chrome remembers folders between visits; Firefox and Safari work but ask for them each time. Windows app: Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, importing only Windows system DLLs; publisher signature and download location will be published here when signing is complete.
